Fencing is a vintage sport that goes back to some of the first Olympics (1896). Requiring very high levels of agility, physical strength, understanding, and intelligence, this sport asks you to perform well under pressure, and you must be able to work hard physically and mentally. It’s a great sport to get into if you're looking to get college scholarships or just want to have a unique sport to be a part of.

Introduction to Fencing

What is Saber Fencing?

Sabre Fencing is when two opponents are both trying to gain the upper hand through their sabres and attach methods. A competitor scores by thrusting and cutting with the edge and back of blade. The target zone is the waist and up, not including the hands. If fencers hit each other simultaneously, the fencer who is moving forward or connects with the opponent’s blade wins the touch.

Open Classes

Designed for youth beginner/intermediate fencers (ages 8-14) who would like to learn the sport of fencing and be competitive in local and national events.

3 Classes* per week
* Classes are 1 hour 30 min long
** Conditioning Sessions are 30 min long
*** Open Fencing Sessions are 1 hour long

Elite/Advanced Classes

Designed for cadet, junior intermediate/advanced fencers who would like to continue to learn the sport of fencing and be competitive in local, national, and international events.

unlimited classes & Open Fencing
* Classes are 2 hour long
** Conditioning Sessions are 1 hour long
*** Open Fencing Sessions are 1 to 2 hour long
